please can u mention some of the likely disadvantages or challenges associated with affiliate marketing and how to manage if any?

Some of the challenges may be understanding the product you want to promote, especially if it’s a physical product which you haven’t used before, that makes it difficult to make content around it. But software or digital related products are easy to understand.
